1. Overview

FanCalm ("we," "our," or "us") operates the FanCalm: Fan Noise Sleep Aid mobile application (the "App") available on the Apple App Store. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, which third-party services process it, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Short version: FanCalm does not require an account. Most preferences (favorites, timer settings) stay on your device. To understand how the App is used and to measure subscription performance, we send analytics data to Mixpanel and Google Firebase Analytics. We do not sell your personal information. We do not request access to the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt and do not collect your advertising identifier (IDFA).

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

FanCalm does not require you to create an account. We may receive information you voluntarily provide when you:

If you contact us by email, we receive the content of your message and your email address.

Information Stored on Your Device Only

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad and is not transmitted to our analytics providers:

Information Collected Automatically — Analytics (Mixpanel)

When you use FanCalm, we send product analytics events to Mixpanel. Mixpanel assigns your device a random identifier (distinct_id) so events from the same installation can be grouped. We do not call Mixpanel's identify() API, so we do not link this identifier to your name or email unless you contact us separately.

Mixpanel may also collect standard device and session properties (for example, iOS version, device model, app version, and session start/end events) because automatic session tracking is enabled in the App.

Examples of custom events we send to Mixpanel include:

Event properties may include, for example: sound or scene identifiers, playback duration (in seconds), subscription product identifiers, whether content is premium, app version, platform (ios), and whether you have an active Pro subscription (is_pro).

Information Collected Automatically — Subscriptions & Conversions (Firebase / Google)

When you interact with subscriptions, we send limited purchase-related events to Google Firebase Analytics (GA4), including:

These events may include: product identifier, subscription price and currency (based on your App Store storefront region), whether the purchase included a free trial, and the in-app source that led to the paywall (for example, locked content or settings).

Apple processes all payments. We never receive your payment card number or full Apple ID credentials.

Information We Do NOT Collect

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

We do not use Mixpanel or Firebase data to serve third-party ads inside FanCalm, and we do not sell your personal information to data brokers. Firebase subscription data may be used by Google to measure the effectiveness of ads that led you to install or subscribe to the App (for example, through SKAdNetwork and on-device conversion APIs), as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

FanCalm integrates the following third-party services. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

Apple

Mixpanel (Product Analytics)

Google Firebase Analytics (Subscription & Conversion Analytics)

Audio Engine Libraries (On-Device Only)

What We Do Not Use

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with Mixpanel and Google only as described in this policy to operate, analyze, and measure the App.

5. Data Retention

Retention periods depend on where data is stored:

Because analytics identifiers are pseudonymous, we may need the email address you used to contact us (or other details you provide) to locate and delete your data across providers.

6. Children's Privacy

Important: FanCalm is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

FanCalm is designed for general audiences, including parents using the App to help infants sleep. In that context, the App is operated by the adult parent or guardian. Analytics events reflect how the adult uses the App on the device; we do not knowingly collect information directly from children.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.

For users in the European Economic Area, we apply a minimum age of 16 where required by local law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise these rights, email us using the contact details in Section 10. We will respond within 30 days.

Opting Out of Analytics

FanCalm does not currently offer an in-app analytics opt-out toggle. Because we do not use the ATT prompt, changing Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS will not disable Mixpanel or Firebase collection by itself.

You may:

European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing include: (i) legitimate interests in understanding and improving the App and measuring subscriptions; and (ii) contract performance where processing is necessary to provide subscription features you request. Where required by law, we rely on your consent. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Analytics data may be processed in the United States by Mixpanel and Google. Those providers use appropriate safeguards for international transfers as described in their privacy policies.

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. We do share pseudonymous usage and subscription data with Mixpanel and Google for analytics and conversion measurement as described in this policy, which may constitute "sharing" under California law. You may submit a request using the contact details in Section 10. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including:

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data using commercially reasonable means.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:

Your continued use of FanCalm after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

10. Contact Us
